Do These Rose-Colored Glasses Make Me Look Fat?

I hate money...

I hate having to spend all my time trying to acquire some, then giving it to someone else...and I especially HATE having to worry about whether I have enough.

I'm in a tough place right now as far as money goes...but who isn't these days?  Right now, I'm working part-time at a place I get paid and part-time at a place I don't get paid.  Now, if I could work 40 hours a week at the place I get paid, I'd be golden.  However, by giving up the unpaid position, I'm giving up on valuable professional experience that could possibly lead to a better paid position.

Conundrum!

So, what do I do?  Do I say goodbye to the internship and work full-time, or do I remain naively optimistic and stick with both part-time positions?

Right now, I'm opting for the second option, because I DO NOT want to be a receptionist forever.  So, I'm looking this big gamble straight in the face with some lovely rose-colored glasses on and telling myself over and over again that whatever is meant to be is meant to be.

Ugh.

  1. It's not naive optimism. It's a tough road to follow that will, in time, lead you to places unreachable via other routes.

Stick with your internship. Suffer while you're young so you can enjoy your years when you're old. If you fail, at least you shot for the moon. That's a lot more than most people can say.

Nothing in this life that's worth having comes without a fight. People like to believe in fate, but they forget that they actually have to exist for fate to govern their lives. e.g. you have to move your ass if you want to go anywhere. So keep working hard at this internship. It's worth it. And if you need help, you have plenty of friends and family to assist you.

I'm proud of you. I know you can tell this by the plethora of cliche phrases I've so earnestly expunged within my response.

    Keep up the good work.

  2. I would stay the way you are until you go crazy. Internships teach you how to put up with stuff...

Then again I want to walk out on my job for a career pan handling.

    Take care,
